Chalet Russell is located in a quiet residential part of St Jean D ' Aulps approx 7 mins walk to the centre of the village, 2 mins walk to the ruined abbey and 5 mins walk to the stop for the local tourist bus

The chalet is located in its own grounds with landscapped gardens, large south face terrace and full length balcony so you can enjoy the stunning scenery at any time of year.

St Jean itself is approx 80 mins driving time from Geneva airport (8 hrs driving time from Calais) and 10 mins from Morzine - it is set in the heart of the Porte Du Soleil - one of the largest ski fields in the world linking 12 resorts on the French /swiss border and offering in winter over 650km linked piste and in summer around 260km mountain bike trails and walking routes (served by a variety of up lifts from Mid June - end August).

The village is the principal settlement in the Vallee D' Aulps - set on the route of the Route De Grande Alpes which linked Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) to the south coast near Nice.

The village offers a small selection of shops and bars as well as a couple of excellent restuarants.

As well as winter sports, mountain biking and walking the area also offers a huge range of other activities throughout the year including canyoning, kayaking, sailing, rowing, parapenting, ice skating, football camps, adventure courses and for those who like a slower pace - natural swimming pools, river side strolls, heritage visits, family activities  and great food and wine.

With it unique micro-  climate created by lac leman the area is snow sure from Mid Dec until at least Mid April. In Spring and Autumn mild dry days make great walking / cycling weather and the long hot days of summer are perfect for a great family holiday.
